🏈 Alvin Kamara: Safe (for now)
Baker Mayfield isn't so bad, why Stevenson & Waller stock is up, and Breece Hall day.
Good morning. It's grind time. Time to crunch numbers and outwork your league-mates. Time to channel your inner Jim Harbaugh. Jeff sums it up:
If you're not locking yourself in your basement to watch film and study analytics for 14 hours a day while switching to an all-steak diet to boost t levels, good luck winning your fantasy league...beta.

The Big Story
Kamara likely avoids a suspension (for 2022)
Alvin Kamara // YardBarker.com
Per @AdamSchefter, it looks "more and more unlikely" that RB Alvin Kamara will be disciplined this season. Kamara's case was strategically delayed by his lawyers, who now request an additional 60 days. This is a common move by NFL players lawyers:
Melvin Gordon's DUI case was pushed back until the off-season and got dismissed, as was Antonio Brown's assault case.
Schefter thinks Kamara "may be on the field for the majority, if not all, of this season," making him a massive value outside of the first round. Take advantage while you can:
Last season, Kamara was the RB5 in average fantasy points per game (currently drafted RB12). Per Scott Barrett, Kamara was second among RBs in weighted opportunity points per game (20.1).
His competition for touches? Age 32 Mark Ingram.
The Hype
Risers: Rhumbles in New England
Rhamondre Stevenson // Pats Pulpit
"The Patriots were working on their 2-minute offense at the end of practice yesterday and Rhamondre Stevenson was repping in the James White role." - @ByChrisMason. This is a huge sign for Stevenson's fantasy value, especially with trade rumors surrounding Damien Harris, because yea, White had a valuable role:
Most receptions among NFL RBs, 2015-21:
1. James White, 376
Most receiving yards among NFL RBs, 2015-21:
1. Alvin Kamara, 3,263
2. James White, 3,255Most receiving TDs among NFL RBs, 2015-21:
1. James White, 25
And that's with White missing almost all of last season.

Raiders TE Darren Waller said the team plans to use him more in the red zone this season. After missing the Raiders' first two preseason games with a hamstring issue, Waller is expected to return to practice as early as this week. I drafted Darren before reading this, so it's a good day.
Steelers rookie RB Jaylen Warren worked with the first-team offense and has a shot at winning the backup RB role. Worth a flier in deep/dynasty leagues after a strong preseason performance (5.7 YPC and 4-30-1 receiving).
Melvin Gordon (foot) returned to a full practice Monday, telling us he's "ready to frustrate Javonte Williams fantasy owners."
There's a 6'4" receiver that runs 4.3 and beats press corners like a drum every single week and somehow very few people are talking about it: Colts rookie WR Alec Pierce is that dude.

Rookie of the Day: Meet Breece Hall
Breece Hall // NJ.com
The unanimous top overall RB in the 2022 draft class, the Jets selected Hall as the first RB off the board. Hall had two monster seasons at Iowa State, putting up 1400+ rushing yards and 20+ TDs in consecutive years. And he's in some ELITE company, athletically:
What else they're saying:
Breece Hall scored an unofficial 9.95 RAS at the Combine out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 9 out of 1519 RB from 1987 to 2022.
"It looks like a committee [with Michael Carter] to start the season." - @SmolaDS
"Michael Carter: 5’8” 200lbs, no visor. Breece Hall: 6’1” 225lbs, dark visor. You do the math [on who the starter will be]." - reddit user @evanphox.

Coach Wehler breaks down Baker Mayfield's film
Baker Mayfield looked good in his first game with the Panthers. The clip of the missed throw that is circulating is simply a miscommunication between the WR and him. Not sure who’s fault that was, but it will get fixed. Baker's looking draftable in a Superflex league & will beat out Darnold - QB2 finish is possible.
@theQBSchool breaks it down further:
Is this throw on Mayfield?
I think it's on McAdoo. This is what design issues look like on offense. This should have been a TD.See the full video soon on #TheQBSchool Patreon Community. Join here: patreon.com/theqbschool

Overtime
Quick Slants
No one cared when the Eagles traded WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside to the Seahawks for some defensive lineman. But you sickos might.
Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson have soft-tissue injuries but this backfield committee should be fine. See what I did there?

Some reddit gold: Who is the biggest “fools gold” in fantasy football right now, and what’s your justification? (hint: Allen Lazard & Antonio Gibson are too high). Which ADPs outright confuse you? (Hint: Tua Tagaviola is too low)
Tweet of the Day
Something I think about a lot is how blessed we are to live through the prime of some of the greatest football players ever.
Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Isiah Pacheco, Davante Adams, Travis Kelce, Christian McCaffrey, etc.
Just truly a blessing

Not sure how I'll ever financially recover if Isiah Pacheco isn't RB1 by midseason. Makes me uneasy thinking about it. See you tomorrow.
