The site we use to win leagues every season:

As any reader of the Morning Huddle knows, we are longtime fans of Fantasy Points. Why? Here’s what the life of a Fantasy Points subscriber looks like:

In 2019, Scott Barrett convinced you to draft Lamar Jackson as a sophomore, when his ADP is lower than Jared Goff’s. In Amon-Ra St. Brown’s rookie year, you snagged him in the third-round of your dynasty rookie draft after reading St. Brown’s pre-draft profile.

Last offseason? You added Puka Nacua in the preseason after listening to Brett Whitfield praise the then-unknown rookie. Yes, Fantasy Points is an investment in your fantasy football season that you’ll wish you made sooner.

Over the past few months, they’ve published Graham Barfield’s Underdog BestBall Rankings, League Winners and Targets and the Fantasy Impact of New Playcallers. Cheat sheets, rankings and more. We’re huge fans, and partnered with them because they’ll help you win your leagues.

DRAFT STRATEGY 101

Not every fantasy football league is the same. Some may have cookie cutter formats, while others might do freaky stuff like points per 1st downs or even return yards.

Today we’re going to dive into some common formats and talk about how and why your draft strategy should differ for each one.

*Side note… since Dynasty and Best Ball leagues are sort of their own animal, we’re going to focus on different types of typical Redraft leagues for now.

PPR, Half-PPR & Standard Scoring

In PPR or Half-PPR scoring, WRs, TEs, and pass-catching RBs are more valuable because they gain extra points for each reception. Generally speaking, a PPR league favors consistency over flukes, so aim for players you know will be heavily targeted in their offenses over boom-or-bust deep threats.

Players to target:

  • Bucs RB Rachaad White (2023 — PPR: RB4 | Non-PPR: RB8)

  • Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. (2023 — PPR: WR13 | Non-PPR: WR25)

  • Jags TE Evan Engram (2023 — PPR: TE2 | Non-PPR: TE6)
