Steelers stars get injured, Russ Wilson news, Tony Pollard's pass-catching chops and Malik Willis runs wild.
Good morning. An absolutely wild weekend in fantasy football. And we’re so close to 10,000 subscribers. We can almost taste it. Help us.
Sharing the newsletter with three friends (who ideally you aren’t competing against), you’ll have access to our rankings ($0) for the entire season.
If you're a Cowboys fan with only one friend, share it with them for entry into our season-long contests. You'll find our referral program at the bottom of the newsletter moving forward.
Some big updates today - let's get into it!
Market Watch
Pittman is being drafted HIGH in big money FFPC leagues. You'll read below why Akers is down, while Stafford's injury risk and lack of rushing pushes him down our rankings. Fournette is the clear RB1 on a Brady-led offense.

Hype
Ride w/ Russ
DNRV Broncos' Zac Stevens said the Denver offense will be "all about" Russell Wilson in 2022, a charge that meshes with a July ESPN report saying new HC Nathaniel Hackett's staff was "tailoring" the offense around the quarterback's strengths.
Expect shoutouts with the Broncos playing in the strongest division in football. Stevens added the Broncos offense should include plenty of pass attempts in the red zone, boosting Wilson's ceiling. Increased volume with legendary efficiency: what if Russ cooks?
Justin Fields went 14-of-16 for 156 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's preseason finale against the Browns.
Tua Tagovailoa was 6-of-7 for 121 yards and a touchdown, leading scoring drives on each of the Dolphins' first three possessions. His biggest play was a 51-yard (underthrown) ball to Tyreek Hill.
Dak Prescott said Tony Pollard can be "one of our best pass catchers." Pollard is expected to take on a more prominent pass-catching role in the offense, making him a great upside pick at current ADP (80th).
"All signs" point to Joe Flacco starting in Week 1 against the Ravens. This is great news for Jets pass-catchers: Elijah Moore said during last week's Monday Night Football broadcast that there's "no difference" between Flacco and Wilson. But, he's still Joe Flacco (video of INT).
Mo Alie-Cox has a 75% route participation on Matt Ryan dropbacks this preseason. Definitely intriguing -- 80% is elite. - @dwainmcfarland. Keep an eye on Malik Willis:
There are definitely outcomes where the Titans are bad enough this year that they want to get a regular season look at Malik Willis. Would immediately make fantasy impact.
None of Ryan Tannehill’s $27M base contract in 2023 is guaranteed.

Fallers: Bad News is Bad News
The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec writes that "it would be optimistic to bank" on RB JK Dobbins (knee) maintaining a heavy workload early this season. Zrebiec also noted that "if they feel like [Dobbins] still needs a bit more time, they can move him to IR the day after the roster is set." Mike Davis is worth rostering wherever possible.
Eno Benjamin rotated with Darrel Williams, indicating that both backs will likely have a role behind James Conner and there's no clear handcuff here.
Russell Gage (hamstring) has yet to resume practicing. It’s been almost 3 weeks since the Buccaneers new WR suited up. Let someone else draft him.
Patriots RB Ty Montgomery (leg) was carted from the field in Friday night's preseason game against the Raiders. Sneaky important injury we'll be monitoring, this could vault Rhamondre Stevenson into a 3rd down role.

Story of the Day
Shooting in Washington
Commanders rookie RB Brian Robinson Jr. was shot multiple times in a carjacking attempt yesterday, with NBC Sports Washington's JP Finlay noting that the injuries are "non life threatening." Robinson’s reported to be in stable condition as of this writing. Heartbreaking news that is much bigger than football. Our thoughts are with Robinson Jr. and his family.
I just got done visiting w/Brian. He is in good spirits and wanted me to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers & support. He wants his teammates to know he appreciates them all for reaching out and he loves them all & will be back soon doing what he does best.

Quotes
Steelers Injuries: Don't Sweat It
"If this is a regular season game, we may see them back. There's no long term concern at the moment for T.J. Watt or Diontae Johnson." - Mike Tomlin, after T.J. Watt was injured on this play (video) and Diontae Johnson likely suffered a left AC sprain after landing on his left side after a catch (video).
"Darrell was able to run full speed today. We were able to get a workout in on the grass. Cam wasn't able to do that quite yet. I'm really excited about getting Darrell back out there for us."
Henderson is a steal at his ADP and I wouldn't touch Cam Akers with a ten-foot pole (It sounds like Akers has a legitimate soft tissue injury).

Teams must cut down to their 53-man rosters in four days, so we'll have some clarity in the coming days. Until then, keep hustling. And share the Huddle!
See you tomorrow.
