🏈 Can't Stop Jacobs

Chiefs and Bengals WRs shine, while Aaron Rodgers blames his teammates...

Good morning. Imagine how exhausting it is to be Aaron Rodgers' teammate, constantly wondering if Aaron's talking sh*t about you to Pat McAfee. Rodgers estimated that the Packers have made mental mistakes on 20 percent of plays, and added, "I think guys who are making too many mistakes shouldn't be playing."

But I'm not from Wisconsin, so I don't care what happens in Green Bay as long as Aaron Jones scores TDs for my fantasy team.

Today's newsletter has a position-by-position rundown, extra fantasy football content for you alpha humans and updates from around the league.

QUARTERBACKS

Danny Dimes

Daniel Jones is on the fantasy radar after scoring 28+ points in Week 7. Jones now ranks as QB10 on the season and has enormous upside from his rushing ability - Jones has more rushing yards than Najee Harris. Najee owners catching a stray. Daniel Jones now has the 6th-best QBR this season (62.6) and has 4 straight top 5 performances.

  • Since I traded him away, Joe Burrow is QB1. This week, Joey Franchise threw for an absurd 481 yards and 3 TDs, breaking my heart in the process. Burrow has 5 games of over 400 yards on his career - the most in NFL history by a QB in their first 3 seasons.

  • Justin Fields had his first top 5 QB finish, thanks to 82 rushing yards and a score. Fields saw 28% of designed rushing attempts and now has 3 consecutive top-12 finishes.

Lamar Jackson has severely regressed and is now without a top 10 QB performance since Week 3. Owners are getting impatient, now's a great time to buy low on Lamar, especially as Mark Andrews was hurt last week.

RUNNING BACKS

Can't Stop Won't Stop

This offseason, we wondered why everyone slept on Josh Jacobs. Jacobs was on the best offense of his career, as the true goal line back and had unimpressive competition. No one expected this. Jacobs is coming off his second RB1 finish of the season with over 33+ fantasy points. Jacobs is 1st among RBs in PFF grade (91.3), tied for 1st in rushing TDs (6), 2nd in rushes over 10 yards (19), and 3rd in missed tackles forced (36). In his past 3 games he has an insane 6 TDs and 523 yards. Absolute stud.

  • Raheem Mostert continues to take over the Dolphins backfield, with 15+ touches in his past 4 games and finishing as RB7 last week. His upcoming schedule is a dream for fantasy owners. Buy where you can.

  • Eno Benjamin shamed those who didn't stick with him by posting 20+ points. There’s a very real scenario where Eno is just a better RB than James Conner is at this point in his career.

Aaron Jones bounced back after two straight duds, thanks to his receiving ability (9 catches for 53 yards and 2 TDs). AJ Dillon continues to struggle and his snap share has plummeted as a result. Dillon saw a season-low 30% of snaps in Week 7, while Jones saw a season-high 74%.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Chiefs Kingdom

Two Chiefs WR finished inside the top 5 with Mecole Hardman (WR2) finishing with 25+ and JuJu Smith Schuster (WR4) hauling in 7 passes for 124 yards and a TD (21+). Still only 25, JuJu has two consecutive games over 100 yards and has solidified himself as the second option behind Kelce. It helps that they play COD every Friday together (video).

  • Ja'Marr Chase had his 2nd straight WR1 finish, and had 28.2 PPR Points in the first half.

  • Tyler Boyd joined the fun with 155 yards and a TD, as WR3 on the week. Boyd had 20.5 PPR Points in the first quarter. He remains an underrated option with weekly upside when defenses focus on the bigger name WRs.

  • Keenan Allen only played 32% of snaps in his first game back, but that number should skyrocket after Mike Williams suffered an ankle injury that will cost him "weeks not days" per HC Brandon Staley.

  • DJ Moore had his season high in receiving yards (69 yards) and a TD. He's still hard to trust on a weekly basis and fantasy owners should be hoping for a trade to a team with an NFL offense.

George Pickens scored his first TD of the season in acrobatic fashion (video). Second on the team in receiving yards (61), Pickes was still only 4th in targets (6) - he caught all six passes thrown his way. Chemistry with QB Kenny Pickett is evident and Pickens should continue to be more involved.

TIGHT END

A Kittle Comeback?

George Kittle has finally arrived. Finishing as TE1 on the week, Kittle had 6 catches for 98 yards and a TD. He has seen 19 targets in the past two weeks (compared to 15 in his first three).  He is still only 7th among TEs in target share over the past month but is trending in the right direction.

  • Saints TE Juwan Johnson finished with 2 TDs on the day, mainly due to Adam Trautman being out. Johnson is only streamable if Trautman misses games.

  • David Njoku had 7 catches for 71 yards before leaving the game with a high ankle sprain. He is expected to miss 2-5 weeks and Harrison Bryant is the guy you want to pickup here. Pain.

QUICK SLANTS

  • Mike Evans was a limited participant in practice, putting him on track to play Thursday. Bucs will likely be without Julio Jones, Russell Gage and Cameron Brate again on a short week.

  • Mark Andrews missed practice again on Tuesday, putting his status up in the air for Thursday night.

  • Rashod Bateman also missed practice Tuesday because of a foot injury that seems to be lingering. Both are worth monitoring.

  • Matt Lafleur said they will see how Allen Lazard's shoulder feels throughout the week before confirming if he will play or not.
