šŸˆ Chase Goes Down

The Bengals lose Jaā€™Marr, Chiefs add a WR, buys & sellsā€¦

Good morning. Congratulations to anyone that held Kadarius Toney this long. The Chiefs traded for the talented WR, and you reap the benefits. You went from delusional to a genius, real quick.

And Scott Barrett is bullish: ā€œUnfathomable upside for Kadarius Toney in Kansas City. If this trade happened in August, Toney would have had a Round 3 ADP.ā€

Today's newsletter features buys & sells, the best articles, and quick slants, like what Michael Thomas runs.

The case for...

ESPN

Crying about Jaā€™Marr Chase, who is expected to go on IR and miss 4-6 weeks with a hip injury. A devastating blow to the Bengals offense that just got rolling. The Bengals, who had mostly given up on the run game, will likely now see play-calling go back down towards neutral per adamlevitan. Even if that's the case,Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd get a big boost in value.

Picking up Wan'Dale Robinson, whose role expanded majorly in his second game. He played 53 of 76 snaps (69.7%), ran 29 routes on 37 Daniel Jones dropbacks (78%), and earned 8 targets for a 26.6% share. He has now earned 13 targets on just 44 routes run this season. With Kadarius Toney gone, it's clear the Giants want Robinson to have a massive role in this offense. He's only owned in 25% of leagues.

Buying DJ Moore, who had his best performance of the season in W7 and saw his fourth straight game of seven or more targets. Now that the Panthers have sold the rest of their offensive weapons, DJ Moore is the entire offense - on a team that will see pass heavy game scripts.

Selling JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has produced consecutive 100-yard games assisted by long touchdowns. Sure, he plays Call of Duty with Patrick Mahomes on Friday nights. But JuJu has only a 19.3% target share and his two scores were on fluky plays. This passing offense still runs through Travis Kelce. And now heā€™s got competition in Toney. Sell high to a WR needy team.

Selling Aaron Jones, who finally got the passing game usage everyone expected after the Davante Adams trade. Jones caught 9 of 10 targets for 53 yards and 2 TDs last week, but he only carried the ball 8 times for 23 yards. Plus, the Packers are a mess right now and they didn't convert on a single third down in W7. This could be an opportunity to sell-high for an elite WR.

Overpaying for Travis Etienne, on the slim chance the Etienne owner in your league thinks they are "selling high" - you need to buy.

"DeAndre Hopkins had a 48% target share in his return to action, including being targeted on 50% of his routes. That kind of usage portends big things against the Vikings, as wide receivers who have seen seven-plus targets versus Minnesota this season average 17.0 PPG." Matthew Berry in his Love/Hate For Week 8.

"Tyler Allgeier gets a crack at the league's ninth most fantasy-friendly defense to opposing backfields, the Carolina Panthers. Allgeier has produced double-digit fantasy point totals in two of the last four weeks and has a great shot to hit the hat trick, thanks to a steady volume of work and a plus matchup." "Three receivers have 11 or more catches of 20-plus yards this season. Two of them ā€” Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle -- are Dolphins. This week, the Dolphins play a Lions defense that's 31st in pass defense DVOA." - @CPoolReporter.

"Jonathan Taylor's efficiency and yard per carry will likely come up with the Colts switching to a mobile quarterback... But with a decreasing pass rate, this team may not score a lot under Sam Ehlinger... [Taylor] is someone that could continue to rise in the rankings based on his pure talent" - Mike Leone on Establish The Run's Rest-of-Season Top 150 podcast.
