🏈 The Chiefs Backfield Bonanza
The Team of the Week, Marlon Mack alert, buy Stefon Diggs & AJ Brown, and Ja'Marr Chase.
Good morning everyone. Another week, another Cowboys victory. How bout them Cowboys!!
(Editors note: apologies for this, Eddie’s a Cowboys fan who can’t help himself).
Hope you got all your waiver claims in, and hope this guy is okay… He was up 111 points before the Monday night game:
Ouch. Let’s get into it:
Team of the Week (0.5 PPR)
QB: Justin Herbert: After a slow start, Herbert’s come alive in the past 3 weeks and solidified himself as a must-start QB1 regardless of matchup.
RB: Derrick Henry: After this game, he’s 20 points ahead of the #2 RB (Austin Ekeler) as the #1 fantasy RB. All hail King Henry.
Peep Tony Pollard
WR: Mike Williams: Not only was Big Mike the WR1 in Week 5, but he’s edged out the Davante Adams for the overall WR1 for 2021. Big Mike & Herbert found their groove. Imagine stacking them…
TE: Mark Andrews: Talk about Monday-night miracles. Andrews went bat-sh*t crazy, with 36+ fantasy points. While ecstatic over Monday night’s performance, fantasy owners are hoping for more consistency (he’s scored single digit points in 3/5 games this year).
The Ravens Monday Night:
Lamar Jackson, Hollywood Brown, and Mark Andrews

DST: Buffalo Bills: Wow. Hands up if you started the Bills D? This was a statement W against the Chiefs: I’ve seen enough to believe the AFC goes through Buffalo now, because no one circles the wagons…
K: We don’t talk about K*******’s in this newsletter. Remember?

CEH is placed on the IR
That’s a brutal injury and painful to look at. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will miss at least 3 weeks during this IR stint - a brutal blow for fantasy owners, as CEH was getting his mojo back.
Darrel Williams is riskier than people realize as a RB3, but it’s #ByeWeekSzn and you’re hoping for TD upside on a high-scoring offense
Jerrick McKinnon has the pass-catching back role and could be started in PPR leagues if you’re desperate, but Mahomes isn’t a check-down type of guy.
At Pro Football Focus, a column from Sam Monson put together two years worth of checkdown stats, the moments when a passer checks down from his primary receiving options to take that easier out. Patrick Mahomes had the 2nd-lowest checkdown rate. Passing on Jerrick.
Rumours are swirling
We’re seeing multiple reports that the Chiefs are interested in acquiring Colts RB Marlon Mack, who looked great on MNF. If you could use an upside RB, now’s the time to pick up Mack, or offer a bag of peanuts in a trade. Low-risk, high reward.
You never know!
Interesting Tweet of the Day
This tweet from the Athletic’s Jake Ciely highlights the players who are targeted, but not connecting on passes:
Top 8 Unrealized Air Yards
Sutton 267
Robby A 263
Diggs 262
Evans 243
AJ Brown 219
Marv 217
Elijah M 216
Davis 199QB % of Throws Off-TGT
Wilson 17.5% (tops)
Fields 16.7Unrealized nice buying opportunity, but not all can be realized... Wilson/NYJ

This should help fantasy owners sleep at night.
Stefon Diggs and AJ Brown are studs, and they’ll have their days.
If Diggs catches 50% of those air yards, he has at least an extra 13 points, moving Diggs from WR28 to WR14.
Buy the dip - a breakout game is right around the corner.
Those considering dropping Robby Anderson and Elijah Moore should wait. While they are not yet startable, the potential is there. Hang on.
What’s most interesting about Jake’s tweet? He writes “Marv” - as if everyone knows who MARV is. Marv Albert? Marvin Gaye? Marvin Jones? This Marv?

Quick Peek: Thursday Night Lights
Tom Brady injured his throwing thumb in the Bucs win against the Dolphins last week, but will play without any limitations.
Bucs QB Tom Brady not worried about thumb injury ahead of TNF matchup vs. Eagles: "There's no serious injury at all. So it's more of a discomfort"

Rob Gronkowski has already been ruled out, with Mike Evans set to continue to see additional red zone looks.
Dallas Goedert was placed on the Covid-19 list - it’s extremely unlikely he suits up (unless he tests negative twice). Zach Ertz should see heavy targets and is a must-add for any TE needy teams.
Quick Slants
Tua Tagovailoa was activated from IR and has a chance to play Sunday.
Pittsburgh Steelers signed WR Anthony Miller to their practice squad. I WISH this didn’t matter, but Miller likely will be activated to their active roster this week and has a chance to solidify himself as the slot WR in JuJu’s absence. Worth considering in PPR leagues.
Kyle Shanahan said Jimmy G has been “doing good.” Which is really helpful and clears things up for no one.
Broncos signed WR John Brown to the practice squad. Interesting for deep deep leagues.
Ja’Marr Chase has been good. Like really good.
Weird Fact of the Day
The Indianapolis Colts entered Monday’s matchup with the Baltimore Ravens with a 120-0 record when leading by 16+ in the 4th quarter.
The last time the Colts franchise lost after being up 16 in the 4th? It was their last loss as the BALTIMORE COLTS in 1983…
Have a great Wednesday, thanks for joining me!
