Tua Update, Injuries, Opportunities & more.

Good morning. Our apologies to anyone who couldnā€™t read yesterdayā€™s newsletter, which didn't mesh with iPhone's dark mode due a bug in the software. A big thanks to everyone who let us know. Even you, the 65th person. Even you.

We quickly imported a team of cyber-specialists and paid them in bitcoin. They told us it was fixed. Please tell us if it's not.

For all the Kamara owners who slept in (again) - please continue to take zero responsibility for your actions.

It's Sunday - the most important day of the week. Some news you want to know.

Tua Update

NFL Chief Medical Office Dr. Allen Sills said Tua should have been put into mandatory 5-step process to be cleared for the Thursday night game vs. Bengals (he was not). That would have made it highly improbable he would have played.

Another flaw with blaming the gross motor instability on Tua's back is that the team did not conduct an exam on the back that was noted as the reason for the event against the Bills, the joint statement acknowledge.

The NFL & NFLPA have since amended the concussion protocols:

Who's Out?

Pittsburghā€™s reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery that now is likely to delay his return by another week or two.

Pats rookie QB Bailey Zappe will start Week 5 in place of an injured Mac Jones and Jakobi Meyers is expected to play.

Whoā€™s Down, But Not Out?

Russell Wilson. No one's had it this bad on social media sinceā€¦??

Of course, we had to get in on the fun. For the Impractical Joker fans out there, you'll appreciate this:

Apparently, Russ played Thursday night against the Colts, and three quarters of the previous game against the Raiders while battling a partially torn lat near his right shoulder, according to sources. However - switching to a new team as a QB is difficult and things might get better for Russ.

Whoā€™s In?

Commandersā€™ running back Brian Robinson was placed on the 53-man roster and will play Sunday vs. the Tennessee Titans six weeks after being shot twice in his right leg. Amazing.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the Bears are "optimistic" David Montgomery (ankle, questionable) will play Week 5 against the Vikings. They likely lean on Khalil Herbert for one more week. At least that's what I'm telling myself as I start him.

The Raiders skills players are looking healthier:

QUICK SLANTS

  • Great story inside the Jets' trade pursuit of Tyreek Hill, and how they rebounded.

  • Brandon Marshall shares his personal experience on what happens when a QB funnels targets to one person, and how Allen Robinson should demand to get the ball more (video).

  • Captain Obvious Update: "There's a lot of buzz" the Panthers will fire head coach Matt Rhule "if things don't pick up soon." The Panthers have been the league's worst offense. Thereā€™s a glimmer of hope for DJ Moore if Rhule is fired.

  • The great @dwainmcfarland stopped by the Sharp Angles pod to drop all of the utilization nuggets you need heading into Week 5 (podcast).

  • Skyy Moore's usage increased in Week 4. He ran as many routes as he did in his first 3 games. Moore is available in 71% of ESPN fantasy football leagues. Stash him now if you have the space on your roster.

Thanks for all your support, letā€™s have an epic Sunday. And for any fellow Canadians, enjoy your Thanksgiving.
