It's bad news. Almost all of it...

Good morning and happy Saturday. Tomorrow's Sunday, which means I'll officially have to start Van Jefferson in two leagues unless a miracle happens to Jonathan Taylor. Down bad.

Per @RapSheet, RB Jonathan Taylor is out for Sunday's game. Hopefully JT owners grabbed handcuff RB Deon Jackson, as Colts HC Frank Reich said this is a week for Jackson to be the guy. Colts aren't sure yet if Zack Moss is ready to make a contribution. The good news for JT: It's more of a week-to-week thing and there are no plans to put him on IR at this point.

Jackson had 22 touches (10 receptions) the last time both Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines didn’t play for the Colts, making him a borderline must start despite a tough matchup.

We've got a brief rankings and injury recap for you today. Let's get into it.

Adjusting the Rankings for TNF:

📉 DeVonta Smith. Smith put up just two catches for 22 yards Thursday night. To make things worse, he took to Instagram and said "idgaf bout y'all fantasy team." Dw, we'll be asking to speak to his manager.

📈 Dallas Goedert looked like the premiere TE the Eagles thought he had the potential to be when they phased out Zach Ertz. The Goed finished with 8 catches on 9 targets for 100 yards and a TD. All against my fantasy team.

📈 Dameon Pierce didn't find the endzone but he did carry the ball a career high 27 times for 139 yards and accounted for 96% of the Texans RB carries. And rookie RBs typically get better in the second half of NFL seasons. I'm buying.

In his newest column for YahooFantasy, Marvin Elequin answers: Which players at each position can we trust rest-of-season?

On CeeDee Lamb: "The only wide receivers currently averaging a higher target share than Lamb are DeAndre Hopkins, Cooper Kupp and Tyreek Hill. In short, his volume has been truly elite through the first eight games. And with Prescott finally healthy, we saw a glimpse of what his upside could be in Week 8 as he totaled 16.3 fantasy points on eight opportunities."

On Pat Freiermuth: "Freiermuth has quietly put together a very productive start to his season. In fact, if we remove the game in which he left early due to a concussion, Freiermuth has finished as a TE1 in four of his six games. Furthermore, his usage numbers all rank near the top of the tight end position: TE5 in Expected Fantasy Points, TE6 in Air Yards Share."

Hey Nurse, how’s my Fantasy Team?

Not looking good.

  • TE Mark Andrews and RB Gus Edwards did not practice for a second straight day. The Ravens play Monday night so if you're debating starting either of these guys, pay close attention to any updates over the weekend before your options get thin.

  • Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard has officially been ruled out for Sunday - @DNewtonespn. D'Onta Foreman should have another expanded role.

  • Keenan Allen is officially OUT for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. Allen can't seem to get rid of his hamstring troubles. The Chargers will now be without Allen and Mike Williams.

Mixed signals in Detroit: D'Andre Swift told reporters this week that he can't promise he'll be 100 percent this year. Lions coach Dan Campbell says the plan is to get Swift in the game vs. Green Bay and "see where he's at." However, RBs coach Duce Staley says they "expect more" from Swift and said he's "trending in the right way." You might not be in a position to bench Swift (but don't tell Dwain McFarland that), you should lower expectations for the time being.

  • Cardinals RB James Conner will be a game-time decision, per head coach Kliff Kingsbury. - @Tdrake4sports

  • Patriots DeVante Parker and Damien Harris (illness) were not at practice on Friday - @MarkDanielsPJ.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson will see another boost in value if Harris can't go.

  • Sean McVay says he doesn't know yet if rookie RB Kyren Williams will be activated this week. - @AndrewSiciliano

  • There is no decision yet on Cordarrelle Patterson's availability for Sunday - @mikerothstein

Bucs WR update: Julio Jones practiced on Friday. Mike Evans and Russell Gage did not. Although, it could have been a maintenance day for Evans. - @PewterReport

Darren Waller (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday. Coach McDaniels said "He's working extremely hard to try to get back as soon as he can. I know that, and nobody wants to play quicker than Darren does." - @VicTafur.

Any Good News?

Austin Ekeler, who showed up on the injury report Thursday with an abdomen issue, was at Chargers practice on Friday and reports indicated him and WR Joshua Palmer will play Sunday.

The Chiefs either have an amazing medical staff, or Kadarius Toney's hamstrings were never really an issue in New York:

Toney looks great, I'm buying wherever I can.

Anyone Else?

QUICK SLANTS

  • Chiefs want to keep using RB Isiah Pacheco on kick returns, but Andy Reid would ultimately make any decision to potentially remove him from that as he gets more work on offense. - @footenoted.

  • On Ken Walker, Pete Carroll said he doesn't "really feel like we cut him loose yet, I think he has big games ahead." If 23 carries for 167 yards and 2 TDs during week 7 wasn't cutting him loose, I can't wait to see what is.

  • Reddit Adjusted Trade Value Chart - Week 9
