🏈 Jayden Daniels & Other Preseason Week 1 Risers & Fallers
Players whose stock is up or down after the first weekend of the preseason, along with injury updates and a spotlight on Rome Odunze.
Good morning. Preseason Week 1 is in the books, which means it’s time to overreact to every single snap because we’re desperate degenerates.
But as someone who thought Johnny Manziel would save my favorite franchise, I’ve learned to stay even keel and take preseason with a grain of salt.
With that being said, let’s talk about how Jayden Daniels is going to be the greatest QB of all time…

The site we use to win leagues every season:
As any reader of the Morning Huddle knows, we are longtime fans of Fantasy Points. Why? Here’s what the life of a Fantasy Points subscriber looks like:
In 2019, Scott Barrett convinced you to draft Lamar Jackson as a sophomore, when his ADP is lower than Jared Goff’s. In Amon-Ra St. Brown’s rookie year, you snagged him in the third-round of your dynasty rookie draft after reading St. Brown’s pre-draft profile.
Last offseason? You added Puka Nacua in the preseason after listening to Brett Whitfield praise the then-unknown rookie. Yes, Fantasy Points is an investment in your fantasy football season that you’ll wish you made sooner.
Over the past few months, they’ve published Graham Barfield’s Underdog BestBall Rankings, League Winners and Targets and the Fantasy Impact of New Playcallers. Cheat sheets, rankings and more. We’re huge fans, and partnered with them because they’ll help you win your leagues.

🔥 Rookie QBs were the talk of Preseason Week 1:
Jayden Daniels’ first completion was a 42-yard bomb down the sideline, followed by an easy read-option TD run. He’s the biggest fantasy sleeper at QB this season.
Caleb Williams showed Mahomes-like arm angles and the improvisational skills that can lead to big plays at the next level. He looked every bit of a 1st overall pick.
Bo Nix led Denver on four scoring drives in five possessions, finishing 15/21 for 125 yds and 1 TD. He could easily win the starting job by Week 1.
J.J McCarthy threw an early INT, but settled in late, throwing 45 and 33-yard TD passes. Sam Darnold looked good in his own right, though, so it could take a few weeks before McCarthy takes over in Minnesota.
Spencer Rattler led a sharp 2-minute drive to win the game for the Saints. He’s an intriguing backup to the lackluster Derek Carr.
Joe Milton III impressed for the Patriots, but don’t be fooled. He’s a bit of a thirst trap...
The saying for Joe Milton goes...
Ask him to throw it 80 yards: he throws it 80 yards. Ask him to throw it 10 yards: he throws it 80 yards. Legendary tbh.
