🏈 Kareem Hunt folds like a lawn chair
Back to camp, Tyrion Davis-Price, we visit Kansas City and 5 WRs you need to draft.
Good morning to everyone except the guy who drafted Mark Andrews one pick before me. I needed that TE.
Welcome to all the new subscribers, absolute legends. We're over 8,000 strong now - thank you all. Five weeks from today, we will be waking up from our first full day of NFL action. Until then, dominate your drafts. Let's get into it.
The Biggest Story
Hunting for a Trade
After Kareem Hunt informed the team that he wants to be "paid or traded," the team privately declined his trade request. Hunt was reportedly right back to practice as usual on Sunday. That's what happens when you don't grow up playing fantasy football: you never learn how to bargain. He was bluffing, but there's always a chance he moves, best spots below:
The Hype
Visiting Chiefs Camp
DraftKings Nation
Rookie RB Isiah Pacheco is "picking up the offense and the protections faster than they thought. He’s physical & their fastest back. They know he’ll run hard, but they want to see if he’ll break tackles in the NFL. Guy to watch” - @JamesPalmerTV. James also noted a few takeaways from the KC WR room - and they aren't that helpful:
"JuJu in my opinion separates himself from the rest of the WRs today. Uses his size so well to his advantage.”
“Mecole Hardman looks good.. Fresh. They’re using him in wildcat, different ways to get the ball in his hands.”
Chiefs beat writer @pgsween also noted, “Marquez Valdes-Scantling looked like he could be the go-to WR in OTAAs, but at training camp … it’s been JuJu. I’m starting to think [Smith-Schuster] will be the second-most targeted Chiefs pass-catcher behind TE Travis Kelce.”
Plus, Sky Moore continues to impress...

Breece Hall is reportedly running away with the RB1 job at Jets camp. "Breece Hall had the best day of all the Jets running backs … I had him with four carries for 31 yards with the starting offense. [Michael] Carter had four carries for six yards.” - @ZackBlatt, Jets reporter. And we even got some Zach Wilson hype:
Next Gen clocked Zach Wilson at practice throwing 69 mph, which is the fastest ever for any QB in any setting. He's at least a B-plus athlete (was told the #Jets clocked him 4.5/40). The traits are TOP SHELF. Doesn't mean he'll be good but I'll take my chances.

From New Orleans: "Chris Olave’s game such a natural fit for Jameis Winston’s passing style & preferences. It’s no wonder Olave is leading #Saints camp in targets & catches." Saints beat Nick Underhill again: “Camp leader in catches: Chris Olave — 12. Camp leader in targets: Chris Olave — 17.”
Rookie of the Day: Meet Tyrion Davis-Price
The Athletic
This 49ers RB could earn significant carries in a run-heavy offense. After missing on Trey Sermon, the 49ers used a 2022 3rd rounder on Tyrion Davis-Price. The 6’1” 230 pound (bell-cow built) back checks the boxes: an early declare, has 4.48 speed, and rushed for over 1,000 yards in his final season at LSU. And he's basically free in home leagues right now.
What else they're saying:
"[Davis-Price] earned reps with the starters. He had a long run, ran over a safety, and the next time the starters were on the field he got the entire series with the 1s. I’d argue he's been the best skill player the past two days.” - @KP_Show, Producer for Niners Nation
“Rookie RB Davis-Price has, perhaps, the two things most important in this run scheme: physicality and decisiveness. He picks his hole and hits it. Have to think he’s gonna carve out a role quickly.” - @nwagoner, Bay Area NFL reporter
“For the second day in a row, Ty Davis-Price made a name for himself. TDP took a carry with the second team, made one cut to get upfield, and wound up running over safety George Odum.
That was enough to impress the coaches and allow Davis-Price reps with the starters.…— NFL Beat Writers (@32BeatWriters)

Best Content of the Day
Reading - we should try it
1. Thorn: 2022 Offensive Line Rankings. All of Establish the Run’s content is valuable and well worth the paywall. In this article, @BrandonThornNFL does a deep dive into one of the most underrated pieces of the NFL and fantasy football puzzle: offensive line play, highlighting the league’s best and worst units. Eagles and Chiefs clocking in at the top of the list.
“Najee Harris was 2nd in the NFL in carries last year with 307. But he managed just 3.9 yards per carry. This year, he heads into the season with the worst offensive line in the league.”
2. Round-by-round guidelines to dominate your fantasy football draft between Rounds 4 and 10. This great twitter thread by @dwainmcfarland is well worth a read. My favorite part and some advice we all need to hear:
"Round 6: Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts are the optimal targets as the RBs are still dead, and WR tiers flatten. Do not draft an RB; don't reach for Pollard. Don't sleep on Michael Thomas/Elijah Moore. Do not draft Schultz/Hockenson over elite dual-threat QB or MT/EM."
Podcast: 5 WRs You Need To Draft with Anthony Amico – Establish the Edge
In this quick 30-minute episode, Establish the Run’s Anthony Amico and Michael Leone identify 5 breakout WRs that should be on your draft radar.
Highly recommend the entire podcast to get their insight on each player - below are timestamps:
[1:00] Gabriel Davis
[6:00] Rashod Bateman - "They drafted two TEs at the draft. They clearly are looking to get into bigger sets [for running the ball]."
[11:30] Amon-Ra St. Brown
[18:00] Chase Claypool
[22:30] Kadarius Toney
Overtime
Quick Slants
"Right now more likely that you see Eno Benjamin in the 2020 Chase Edmonds change of pace/3rd down back role when RB1 was Kenyon Drake. Feels like Darrell Williams is... the clear leader for RB3 right now, maybe part of RBBC if Conner hurt." Basically, Eno Benjamin is James Conner's handcuff.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that there is "no clear trade partner" for Jimmy Garoppolo. We're looking at you, Seattle.
Newly acquired Bears WR N’Keal Harry suffered a significant high-ankle sprain after being traded to the team less than a month ago. Will Fuller SZN?
Justin Jefferson has been watching Cooper Kupp film and @RapSheet wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a similar role for Jefferson and the Vikings this season. So you're telling us he could get better?

The Bears o-line is shaping up to be that bad. Thanks for joining us this morning. And remember, if Matt Patricia can still have an offensive role, you can do anything!
