A quiet Wednesday in fantasyland
Bengals lifer Carlos moves on - Oct 29
Howdy. It’s the Oct 29th edition of the Morning Huddle - crazy to think we are 8 Weeks into the NFL season. What are we supposed to look forward to when fantasy football szn ends? Probably not worth thinking about.
Before we jump in - shoutout to our reader JD for pointing out our mistake yesterday: The Bengals v. Steelers game moved to 4:25 was for Week 10, not Week 8.
The NFL Trade Deadline: Next Tuesday
The Athletic's Aaron Reiss reports the Packers are "among the teams to inquire about" the availability of Will Fuller, and “teams are calling about Randall Cobb”. Fuller is on the final year of his rookie contract, so a move would make sense if the Texans don’t plan on resigning him. Fuller has been dominant this season, something a move to the Packers wouldn’t change.
In light of next Tuesday being the trade deadline, here are two moves we would like to see:
Ryan Fitzmagic to the Cowboys. No one cares how it gets done, but everyone knows it should. Rescue their season, rescue the season of all fantasy owners with shares of Cowboys, and get Fitz back on the football field.
Julio Jones to the Packers. Look, the Falcons aren’t making the playoffs, Rodgers is balling out, and Julio might be the best WR in history. Give Julio a shot at a Super Bowl ring, and all his fantasy owners a chance at one too. Also, let Calvin Ridley get 20 targets a game.
Matchups you should be targeting
Want to score more fantasy points each week? Can’t decide between two talented WRs, like Tyler Boyd or Robby Anderson? What about Josh Allen or Tom Brady?
Defense wins championships in real life, but analyzing defenses wins championships in fantasy. Fantasy football production is largely driven by matchups, which is why you sit WR1s against James Bradberry and start them against the Seahawks.
Ryan McDowell (@RyanMc23) breaks down the best/worst matchups here. Best matchups to target at each position:
QB: ATL, SEA, or PHI
RB: CHI, LV, or NYJ
WR: SEA
TE: ATL
Carlos Dunlap, Goodbye
I am a life-long Bengals fan (we all make mistakes). It was disappointing to see Dunlap list his house, making a trade inevitable. His wish came true yesterday, as the former All-Pro DE was acquired by the Seahawks for an offensive lineman and 7th round pick. It cleans up the locker room in CIN and boosts the DL in SEA.
Here are some highlights from Dunlap’s Bengal career that you have never seen.

One of my personal go-to sources, FantasyPoints.com, is offering two free articles this week:
The XFP Report (A MUST READ) highlights players seeing the best volume for fantasy and tells you who the best buy-low and sell-high candidates are.
Players to Trade/Trade For. The name speaks for itself. Enjoy!
These guys are the reason I drafted Diontae Johnson and Chase Edmonds in almost every league. If you enjoy the articles and want to subscribe, use code REDZONE for 15% off.
The Infirmary: Quick Updates
Allen Robinson is in the league’s concussion protocol. Andy Dalton is too. Both are doubtful to play in Week 8.
Tevin Coleman was designated to return from the IR and could join McKinnon and Hasty in the 49ers backfield this week.
The Eagles are healing. Jalen Reagor, Dallas Goedert, and Jason Peters are all back and practicing. Miles Sanders is still out, so Boston Scott remains startable.
Aaron Jones did not practice yesterday. Green Bay hosts the 1-5 Vikings in Week 8, so resting Jones is not out of the question (I’m playing against Jones, so LaFleur, no rush). Jamal Williams remains startable.

That’s all for today folks - as always, thank you, and let me know any updates or suggestions to make this newsletter better!
Question of the day: What trade NEEDS to happen before the NFL deadline?
