The Ravens get better - Oct 23

Hello hello hello. Another day has gone by and we’re back with the Morning Huddle. The positive responses have been great - thank you all.

For those being sent this, here you go.

Last night’s Eagles-Giants game was a solid one. Not the most entertaining first half, but it’s Thursday Night Football, so expectations are low. However, in second half Daniel Jones (Vanilla Vick) had what might be the Giants play of the year. Here are yesterday’s top stories:

3 reasons Dez Bryant should give the New Orleans Saints a call

Dez Bryant is/will be/might be/could be signed by the Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens plan to sign the former Cowboys All-Pro WR to their practice squad. A huge guy who can make contested catches, the Ravens want to get Dez reps with Lamar Jackson. This could be an upgrade to all Ravens, even Hollywood Brown and Mark Andrews, as it adds another offensive threat defenses must account for.

Go trade for the Ravens D/ST

Currently the highest-scoring D/ST, the Ravens got even better with the addition of former Pro Bowler DE Yannick Ngakoue. Over the past two games (CIN and PHI), the Ravens D/ST recorded 13 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, an INT and a TD.

With a not-so-difficult rest of season schedule and on their bye this week, this might be your best chance to scoop the Ravens D/ST from an owner who needs to fill the position. Defense wins championships.

A few injuries to keep an eye on

Uh oh, Michael (Not-Slant-Boy) Thomas was not present during the open portion of Thursday's practice, a day after a hamstring injury. Darrell Henderson was held out of practice with a thigh injury, a new issue. Cam Akers becomes a potential start if Henderson misses time.

Jeff Wilson was "limited" in Tuesday's practice with a calf injury, making JaMycal Hasty worth a roster spot. Joe Mixon missed his second straight practice Thursday.

Raiders Coach Jon Gruden May Or May Not Be Wearing A Thong As A Mask Today (PICS)

Who will Josh Jacobs be running behind on Sunday?

Las Vegas Raiders OL Trent Brown tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss this week's game against the Buccaneers, which has been rescheduled from Sunday night to Sunday afternoon. The entire group of starting O-Lineman were placed on the Covid list, but it doesn’t mean they won’t play. Keep an eye on this, at it would be a big negative for the entire Raiders offense.

Fire ‘em up Friday

Bye weeks. Injuries. Covid-19. It’s been a hell of a year in the “oh sh** I better fill that starting position” department. Here are the top players back healthy and expected to play in Week 7:

  1. Noah Fant - Carted off in Week 4, Fant will be back in lineups looking to continue to build off a strong start with Drew Lock.

  2. Jonnu Smith - After Anthony Firsker went nuts in his absence, Smith returns for a battle of 5-0 teams as the Titans take on the Steelers.

  3. Diontae Johnson - It’ll be very interesting to see the dynamic in the Steelers offense featuring a WR1 (Chase Claypool), a former WR1 (JuJu), a deep threat (James Washington), and the next AB (Diontae), who led the team in target % before his injury.
