Tua update, Joe Mixon's elite usage, Zach Wilson & much more

Good morning and happy Saturday. We survived another week - almost time to unwind with the best medicine: football.

First, a quick Tua Update. Tua is in 'good spirits' at his home in South Florida and initial tests showed no structural damage. He also posted a message thanking everyone for the support.

We've got a rankings update, content highlights and injury recap for you today.

Ranking Reactions from TNF

πŸ“ˆ Tee Higgins has more receiving yards and fantasy points than Ja'Marr Chase. The gap between these two receivers is much tighter than ADP reflected.

πŸ“ˆ Tyreek Hill - Hill finished the game with 14 targets and a 10-160 statline. Hill looked is and will be the dominate target earner, regardless of QB.

πŸ“‰ Jaylen Waddle - Waddle finished with just 5 targets. 2 catches for 39 yards came in the first half. Waddle owners shouldn't panic yet, but Teddy B could be a big downgrade.

πŸ“‰ Chase Edmonds - Over the Dolphins' last two games, Raheem Mostert has out-snapped (70 to 37) and out-carried (23 to 11) Chase Edmonds. Edmonds did have 2 touchdowns last week, and should have had 2 again Thursday night, which indicates he is getting a lot of the high-leverage snaps. But he is still impossible to trust in most leagues.

πŸ“ˆ Joe Mixon - Mixon finally found the endzone for the first time this season and logged a healthy 24 carries and 4 catches. He also continued his elite usage:

Best Reads & Listens of the Day (no paywalls)

Ian Hartitz outlines injury notes and analysis for Week 4 in this must-read article on PFF. On Jets QB Zach Wilson (knee): "Not listed on the final injury report and will start Sunday against the Steelers. I’d prefer to see just how healthy Wilson is before going out of my way to squeeze anybody involved in this offense into a starting lineup. This goes for running back, wide receiver and tight end alike."

This Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase stat surprise anyone?

Is Buffalo's Khalil Shakir Worth the Wait? Matt Waldman delivers his scouting report of Khalil Shakir and shows you why this deep dive rookie WR is worth monitoring this year as a potential injury replacement for Stefon Diggs.

In dynasty leagues, I'd seriously consider involving him as a pot-sweetener in larger formats if someone wants to package players for a deal. I'm skeptical that Davis will ever be what the buzz was for him this summer whereas I'm optimistic that Shakir will outplay his fifth-round draft status like his fellow fifth-rounder teammate, Diggs.

Wide receiver shadow matchups, best/worst mismatches and Week 4 rankings, article by PFF. Justin Jefferson vs. Marshon Lattimore: "Lattimore has spent 88% of his snaps this season as an outside corner; Jefferson (33% slot rate) should avoid this matchup more than expected and at his best is good enough to dominate even the league’s better one-on-one corners like Lattimore anyway."

Jalen Hurts isn't even in his final form. We're just waiting for a week where the opponent can keep the game close and he goes nuclear. Below is his potential upside.

HOSPITAL VISIT

Hey Nurse, is Anyone on My Fantasy Team Active this Week?

A LOT of players are already ruled OUT heading into Week 4. Here's the short list:

  • Bears ruled out RB David Montgomery for Sunday's game at the NY Giants - @AdamSchefter. Khalil Herbert will be better than a cold beer on a summer's day.

  • The Lions have ruled out both RB D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) for Sunday's game vs. Seattle. This is a boost for DJ Chark, who Dan Campbell confirmed is good to go for Sunday.

  • Michael Thomas is OUT Sunday. Alvin Kamara and Jarvis Landry are questionable and Jameis Winston is doubtful. Fading the Saints this week.

  • Keenan Allen (hamstring) is out again for Sunday vs. the Texans, per @TomPelissero. FIRE up Mike Williams. But you know that.

  • If you have been unfortunate enough to hold on to them this long, Wan'Dale Robinson and Kadarius Toney are both out for the game against the Bears, per @NFL_DovKleiman.

Everyone else:

What's the good news, Doc?

  • Christian McCaffrey spoke to the media on Friday and was asked if he's ready to go Sunday. His response: "Yeah, I feel great." -@augustalstone

  • Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is off the injury report and will play against the Saints on Sunday. - @TomPelissero

  • Bills WR Gabe Davis said his ankle felt good at practice Friday and was quoted saying, "I'm playing Sunday." - @JoeBuscaglia

  • James Conner (knee) came off the injury report on Friday.

QUICK SLANTS

  • In Kirk Cousins's last trip across the pond to London he threw for a career high in passing yards (458) which is a single-game London record. -@NFL

  • Eagles' CB Avonte Maddox has been ruled out Sunday vs. Jaguars. "Big blow to the Eagles secondary, especially with Christian Kirk spending so much time in the slot." - @EliotShorrParks

  • Per PFF, Marshon Lattimore in coverage this season: Week 1 - 1 catch allowed, 6 yards; Week 2 - 2 catches allowed, 17 yards; Week 3 - 0 catches allowed. Things aren't looking great again for Justin Jefferson after two slow weeks.

Just a reminder - there's a game in London this weekend, so set you lineups Saturday to be safe. Now go do something you'll regret tomorrow.

Jake, Eddie, Matt & Coach Wehler.
