šŸˆ Waiving Hi to Tuesday

Best pickups this week: Garrett Wilson, Garrett Wilson, Garrett Wilson.

Good morning. Pretty cool to see Josh Gordon back on an NFL field last night. Almost as cool as the new logo at the top of the newsletter. Legit right? Like the "2-0" Giants?

Some of your feedback we love: 1) a ā€œWeekend Stashā€ section of players and D/ST to target on waivers 2) More start/sit content 3) Don't ever say "buy Juju Smith-Schuster" before a 10 yard performance. Tough, but fair.

Favourite response: "The newsletter is everything I need in life. Without its sustenance, I would surely wither away into the void. Thank you for giving my life meaning. All the blessings upon your houses you wonderful wonderful people." Thanks Mom!!

Maybe the Giants are legit?

WAIVERS

Checking out The Wire

RUNNER: Raheem the Dream

Raheem Mostert led the Dolphins in carries, targets, rushing yards, and receiving yards Sunday. He even played in the 2-minute drill over Chase Edmonds and on every one of the Dolphins' red zone snaps in Week 1. If those stats are any indication, Raheem Mostert is the Dolphins RB1 and a must-add. So long as he's healthy, he's one of the league's fastest players.

  • Jordan Mason: Tyrion Davis-Price suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's game and will miss at least a few weeks. Mason is the RB2 in SF and worth adding in 12 team leagues.

  • Mark Ingram: Valuable if Kamara misses time. Useless if not.

RECEIVER: Round 1 Rookies

Round 1 rookies Garrett Wilson, Drake London and Jahan Dotson are all top-13 scoring fantasy WRs right now. London's taken in every league worth its salt, but Wilson & Dotson are available almost everywhere. Wilson was the first 21 year old first round wide receiver to see 15+ targets in a game this early in the NFL season. He also had 35% target share and was WR3 in air yards in Week 2. Wilson shares some ELITE company:

Dotson played a team high 98% of snaps in Week 2 and did this:

  • Chris Olave and Curtis Samuel shouldn't be available in your league but are #1 pickups if they are.

  • Jakobi Meyers: 13 targets, nine catches and 95 yards in Week 2.

  • Greg Dortch is a sneaky FLEX play as long as Rondale Moore is out and DeAndre Hopkins is suspended (13+ fantasy points each of the first 2 weeks).

  • Hayden Hurst's 15 targets are second-most on the team behind Jaā€™Marr Chase.

Donā€™t buy the hype on Eno Benjamin: James Conner missed almost all of the second half against the Raiders on Sunday with an ankle injury (he has a history of ankle issues). Benjamin (11 touches) and Williams (10) formed a committee after Conner left.

And for QB: Tua is #1, Wentz is #2.

D/ST

Defense Wins Championships

When key offensive players are out, especially o-linemen and QBs, suddenly there are more D/ST sleepers. This week shapes up to have no shortage of viable options. Per SportingNews:

  1. Dallas Cowboys @ NYG - Eight sacks through Week 2, allowed only 18 points per game, and gets Daniel Jones and the Giants in Week 3.

  2. Los Angeles Chargers @ JAX - Very nice 5 game stretch: Jax, @Hou, @Cle, Den, Sea.

  3. Pittsburgh Steelers - Doesn't matter who they play. Helps that they play the Browns.

  4. Buffalo Bills @ MIA - Tua balled out, but Bills are built different than the Ravens.

  5. Chiefs @ Colts - If Pittman canā€™t go, this matchup will be even more enticing.

  6. Philadelphia @ WAS - Wentz loves throwing pick 6s.

  7. New York Giants - Cooper Rush still hasn't proven he can win against a good team šŸ˜…

  8. New Orleans Saints @ CAR - Carolina this week, Seattle next.

  9. Los Angeles Rams - See Ramsey, J. and Donald, A.

  10. Chicago Bears vs HOU - Lovie Smith reunion gives Bears a "get right" shot.

KICKERS: Ban them.

QUICK SLANTS

  • Las Vegas police are investigating allegations that a fan struck Arizona Cardinalsā€™ QB Kyler Murray. Here's a video of what happened.

  • QB Trey Lance suffered a significant ankle injury that ended both his and my fantasy football seasons.

  • Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is suspended one game for his fight Sunday.

  • The Detroit Lions are averaging a league-leading 3.8 (!!) yards BEFORE contact per rush, per TruMedia. That offensive line is legendary.

  • Kyle Pitts is a sell low.

  • Joe Burrow canā€™t win without an appendix.

  • Curtis Samuel is a league winner.
