šŸˆ Week 4 Waivers

Hunter Renfrow, Josh Gordon, and Big Ben's Retirement Party.

If youā€™re reading this, congratulations. You made it to Week 3. Weā€™ve been through a heck of a season, injuries, Covid, and Matt Nagy. But youā€™re still going strong.

This is your year.

Hopefully your fantasy football week went better than mine (thanks Kyle Pitts and Robert Woods).

CMC Owners

This is what you came for:

Here are some of our favorite waiver wire targets for week 4.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey to miss at least 3 games after being placed on injured reserve

Chubba Hubbard/Royce Freeman

Chubba Hubbard will be the most popular target as he is getting the first crack at replacing CMC over the next two weeks. While Chubba is the obvious pickup, if he is unavailable, check for Royce Freeman.

Freeman will see some work and is the better pass blocker. This could be more of a 50/50 split than people expect - if the veteran Freeman plays well in Week 4, he could see the majority of carries.

  • Freeman is only owned in 1% of leagues and may fly under the radar.

Emmanuel Sanders

Bills' Emmanuel Sanders exhilarated after 1st taste of uptempo offense: 'Practices don't do it justice' - syracuse.com

Emmanuel Sanders had a big game with 5 catches for 94 yards and two TDs. Heā€™s carved out a nice role in this offence as the deep ball threat, with Cole Beasley being the underneath option. Stefon Diggs remains the #1.

  • Sanders is filling the John Brown role while relegating Gabriel Davis to the bench. Itā€™s also only his third game with Josh Allen.

Tim Patrick

Only rostered in 18% of leagues, Patrick has double digit fantasy points in all 3 games, with a touchdown in 2 of them.

  • With KJ Hamler out for the season with a torn ACL, Patrick will be even more relied upon than previously expected.

  • He is now the clear #1 WR in the offense and should be a reliable flex play especially with bye weeks coming up.

Hunter Renfrow

Darren Waller is the clear-cut #1 option for the Raiders, but Renfrow has quietly seen 22 targets over 3 games, hauling in 16 of them. Heā€™s become a decent flex option in PPR leagues.

  • While not a sexy play, Renfrow has seen double-digit fantasy points in 2/3 games and he see volume in the Raiderā€™s pass-heavy offense.

  • Watch him COOK one of the NFLā€™s best cornerbacks:

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

  1. Tyler Conklin - Kirk Cousins has no other TE option & Conklin looked good.

  2. Peyton Barber - Gross, I know. But volume is King.

  3. Henry Ruggs - the first WR selected in the 2020 draft (ahead of Jeudy, CeeDee, Higgins, Claypool, Pittman, etc.) finally looked good. Still only year 2.

Should Matt Nagy Be Sued for Negligence?

Justin Fields took more sacks on Sunday (9!! times) than he had completions (6). While Fields deserves some blame, Matt Nagy came in with one of the worst game plans in recent memory. And that includes Adam Gase.

Youā€™d think when the Bears traded up to draft Justin Fields, they would spend some time planning how to use him...

Instead, the Bears called the game as if Andy Dalton was behind center. Only two designed runs. 13 of the 20 passing plays did not feature their RB or TE helping out their OLā€¦ Against one of the best DLā€™s in the NFL. Myles Garrett took complete advantage with a franchise-record 4.5 sacks.

Only 3 times did they move Fields out of the pocket. Garrett was surprised at the Bearā€™s poor gameplan:

Also, Matt Nagy said Dalton, Fields AND Foles have a chance to start week 4. What a disaster. Poor Allen Robinson and David Montgomery. Poor fantasy owners.

Poor Bears fans.

Bolt Up

What should Chargers do with WR Mike Williams?

After a tough loss to my Cowboys last week, the Chargers responded by stunning the Chiefs with a 30-24 win. Herbert balled out with 4 TDā€™s, 2 to Mike Williams, and the others to Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler. Mike Williams is having the breakout year owners were hoping for and is worth buying in all leagues.

Hang it up Ben

While his numbers donā€™t look bad (throwing for over 300 yards and a TD), he also had 2 INTs. Ben showed zero mobility and almost no arm strength.

  • Despite that, Najee Harris owners are thrilled.

  • Najee was targeted an insane 19 times, catching 14 for 102 yards and 40 yards rushing.

  • Chase Claypool went 9 for 96 and should see even more volume after JuJu left the game, leaving Juju and Diontae Johnsonā€™s status in question for Week 4.

  • Chase Claypool is this yearā€™s DK Metcalf, finally seeing the volume he deserves.

Quick Slants

  • Josh Gordon was reinstated by the NFL and signed with the Chiefs. SO tempting.

  • AJ Brown is week to week with a hamstring strain. At least you wonā€™t start him.

  • James White was carted off the field with a hip subluxation and is out indefinitely. Damien Harris is the only reliable RB in the Patriots backfield.

  • Darrell Henderson is expected to play Week 4 against the Cardinals. Something to monitor.

  • Carolina traded TE Dan Arnold and a third-rounder to the Jags. Arnold should immediately start for the Jaguars and has a decent chance to be fantasy-relevant. Keep him on your watchlist.

A MOMENT FOR JUSTIN TUCKER

While Iā€™m team #BANKICKERS, I make an exception for GREATNESS. Tucker sealed the deal for the Ravens with an NFL record 66-yard kick.
